We are here to help you with work-related problems such as grievances and disciplinaries.

We can also offer you advice on conditions of service, harassment and bullying at work. There are representatives working in your area and you can find details of how to contact them on this website.

Our branch is run by a committed group of individuals who believe passionately in public services and the public sector ethos. Branch activities include negotiating for better pay and conditions, helping individuals in trouble and campaigning for a safer, fairer society. UNISON is Britain's biggest union, representing more than 1.4 million people across the UK's public services.

Starting July 27 UNISON will, along with our sister unions, be protesting outside the Civic Centre every Wednesday from 12pm - 2pm. UNISON believes that there are alternatives to the drastic cuts that we are being told are unavoidable. At open meetings for staff over the past two weeks, members have indicated that they would like to be involved in protesting against changes that many feel will impact severely on our community >> Read more

UNISON STEPS UP FIGHT AGAINST CUTS UNISON members working for Reading Borough Council are concerned about the danger to local communities of huge public spending cuts leading to job losses, set to be announced in the budget on Tuesday (22 June).
